The world's best sports acrobats will gather in Oktyabrsky

From May 4 to 6, an international competition in sports acrobatics, commemorating the twice Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut Vladislav Volkov (Volkov Cup 2014 Oktyabrskii) will be held at the Palace of Sports of the city of Oktyabrsky.

Currently "Volkov Cup" is the only international competition in sports acrobatics in Russia.

Pilot-Cosmonaut Vladislav Volkov was the first president of the Federation of Sports Acrobatics USSR. The best acrobats of the world gather to honour his memory for the 12th time already.

The tournament -2013 in Novgorod was attended by over 280 athletes from 11 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Israel, Kazakhstan, Moldova, France, Russia, as well as newcomers from Australia, Canada and Uzbekistan.

This year, the city of Oktyabrsky received the right to hold these prestigious competitions. Traditionally among the participants of the tournament are representatives of the world elite of acrobatics. Among them are the world champions of Europe, winners of the World Cup, European championships . According to the organizing committee, more than 250 athletes announced about their participation in the competitions.

Athletes from Ufa and Oktyabrsky in the two groups will present Republic of Bashkortostan in the Russian team. The first group includes Valeriya Muratova, Violetta Muratova, Karina Jawahiri, the second group includes Ekatherina Platoshkina, Karina Akhsanova, Evelina Snisarenko.

The solemn opening will be held on May 4 at 5 p.m.
