May Day trade union meeting took place in Ufa

On May 1, a rally under the all-Russian Trade Union slogan "Decent work - fair wages!" was held in the square in front of the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre RB. Traditionally, it was organized by the Bashkortostan Federation of Trade Unions and the administration of Ufa.

The meeting gathered hundreds of participants - representatives of industrial companies, governmental and public institutions, veterans and youth associations. The rally was visited by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection Lenara Ivanova, Ufa mayor Irek Yalalov, the trade union leader of the republic Amirkhan Samirkhanov, Bashkir parliament deputies, chairmen of the trade unions.

As part of the meeting an "Umbrella Parade" was held by the Youth Council of Trade Unions RB.

As previously reported, according to preliminary data of Federation of Trade Unions RB, on May 1 trade union marches and rallies will be attended by more than 30 000 people in the cities and regions of the republic.
