Bashkortostan Representative Office in Moscow held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RAS in Russia

In Moscow the Russian President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in Bashkortostan Republic Arthur Shainurov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa in the Russian Federation Mandisi Mpahlua. This meeting was the first acquaintance of the republic with the Ambassador of this country, the BRICS member, the press centre of Bashkortostan Representative Office in Moscow informs.
In 2015, members of the RSA leadership are supposed to take part in the BRICS Summit in Ufa. In light of this impending event Arthur Shainurov gave a presentation of Bashkortostan to Mr. Mpahlua and the third secretary of the Political Section of the Embassy of South Africa Tembani Maluleke, focusing on trade and economic potential of the republic. During the conversation, they were given the best wishes on behalf of the President RB Rustem Khamitov and an invitation to visit the republic during the international congress "Big Chemistry" to be held on May 29-30, 2014 or at any other time. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa, in turn, expressed best wishes to the leadership of Bashkortostan Republic and highly estimated the Russian practice of holding international summits and meetings outside of Moscow, in the regions of the country that, in his view, allowed representatives of different countries to learn more about Russia.
The parties discussed the possibility of expanding trade and economic cooperation between Bashkortostan and South Africa, which so far was modest. Thus, the maximum amount of mutual foreign trade turnover with this country reached 7.86 million U.S. dollars in 2012, when a large batch of grain was purchased in Bashkortostan. While South Africa occupies only the 93rd place in terms of foreign trade with the republic, but by common opinion, the parties' cooperation has large reserves to increase.
At the meeting in Moscow, the parties agreed to continue contacts between the plenipotentiary Representative Office of Bashkortostan Republic and the Embassy of South Africa in Russia, as well as to make joint efforts for the development of humanitarian cooperation between the parties. A photographer from South Africa is invited to participate in the annual international campaign "Nature. People. Culture ", which will be held in Bashkortostan from June 9 to 16, 2014, the head of the press centre of Bashkortostan Representative Office in Moscow Gulchachak Hannanova informs.
