In Bashkiria reserves coltsfoot flowering signalized of an early spring coming

In the Ural Mountains phenological phases of plants delay by about two weeks compared with Ufa. But throughout the republic the early spring season opens with the beginning of coltsfoot flowering. This firstborn of spring flora, one of the earliest honey plants, was spotted yesterday at the open glades of forest reserves in Burzyansky region. It is of great importance for wildlife: with appearance of nectar and pollen the strength of bee colonies markedly increases.

Employees of nature reserves live not according to a calendar year but to a phenological one. It consists of pre-winter, winter, pre-spring, early spring, green spring, summer, full summer, early autumn, autumn, and so on.
