First Republican Forum of socially oriented non-profits takes place in Ufa

The First Republican Forum of socially oriented non-profit organizations "Bashkortostan - the Territory of Consent and Development" was launched in Ufa on Wednesday. The event brought together on one platform active public figures, community members and representatives of government, local authorities, enterprises, business communities and public associations. The Forum participants were welcomed by the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

“The idea of the Forum "Bashkortostan - the Territory of Consent and Development" - is correct. I hope that this event will become a tradition. Today in the republic there are about five thousand non-profit organizations - about one and a half thousand of them are operating. They do a lot of positive things for our republic. If the state apparatus operates in the direction of social services consistently, sometimes slowly, then you are very dynamic, you know how to find weak points, you know what kind of help should be rendered to people. You are a cementing foundation of our society”, the head of the republic told the audience. “You form a new quality of life in the region with your energy, intelligence, talent and creativity.”

The activities of many non-profit organizations revived after allocation of funds by the Government RB for several programs implementing.

The President wished the participants fruitful work and finding adequate solutions to the most pressing issues and problems of our society.

The Forum work will continue for two days. The most active non-profit organizations will participate in the round tables where different topics will be raised. Delegates and public figures will discuss the role and capacity of public councils, will learn the procedures of grant competitions and other mechanisms of state support for non-profits, will talk about the information tools of civil initiatives, raise issues of social orphanhood and family. Public initiatives in education, science and culture, examples of non-profits contribution to patriotic education and development of individuals will be also presented there.

On the second day of the Congress, April 17, the Russian Festival of Public Universities of the Third Age, the Festival of Volunteer Groups "Good Will", the campaign "A Walk with your Doctor" will be held.
