Number of cars owned by Bashkiria residents grew by almost 9 percent for a year

In 2014, number of cars owned by Bashkortostan residents reached 258 units per 1000 people. Last year the figure was 237, thus, an increase amounted to 8.9 percent. Such data are given by the "Autostat" analytical agency.

On average in Russia 274 cars are accounted for 1000 inhabitants. The regions - leaders are the Primorye Territory (572) and Kamchatka Territory (458). The third place on this index went to the Kaluga Region (344), ahead of Moscow Region (340). The least number of car owners is in the Chukotka Autonomous District - 70 cars per one thousand inhabitants.

“Availability of cars in Russia is two times lower than in developed European countries, and three times - than in the USA. At the same time it grows from year to year. And even in absence of positive trend in the market, this figure will grow steadily”, the director of the "Autostat" analytical agency Sergey Tselikov marked.

The expert added that as predicted, in about 8-10 years this indicator would approach the figures in Eastern Europe - 400 cars per 1000 inhabitants.
