Incidence of SARS and influenza by 4.8 percent exceeds the weekly epidemic threshold in Ufa

The incidence of SARS and influenza in Ufa is by 4.8 percent exceeds the weekly epidemic threshold. Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) published data on the epidemiological situation for the period from March 3 to 9.

In the capital 8287 cases of SARS were registered for the reporting week, of which 80.6 percent were children under 17 years. The incidence increased by 6.4 percent compared with the previous week.

Across the republic, from March 3 to 9, 24 977 people were registered with SARS diagnosis, of whom 81.1 percent were children under 17 years. Compared with the previous week the incidence increased by 9.1 percent including by 13.6 percent among children under 17 years. Among the whole population the incidence of influenza and SARS is 35.2 percent higher than the long-time average annual level.
