March is expected warmer than usual in most parts of the Volga Federal District

In the first week of spring weather forecasters predict partly cloudy, mostly dry weather in Bashkortostan. Light snow is expected in the region only on March 8 and 9, the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia reports.

In most regions the temperature at night this week will not fall below minus 15 degrees Celsius. The air will warm up to minus three to five degrees during the day.

Meanwhile, according to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" the director of Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia Roman Vilfand informs that March and February are expected to be warmer than usual across the country this year.

“As for high water it is influenced by three factors: the depth of soil freezing, snow saturation of water and snow depth”, Roman Vilfand explains. “A more accurate flood forecast will be ready by mid-March. However, according to preliminary data, the difficult situation is expected in the Volga region south of Nizhny Novgorod.”
