Roadshow of Russian development institutes Russian Startup Tour- 2014 is held in Ufa

The roadshow of the Russian development institutes Russian Startup Tour- 2014 is held in Ufa on the basis of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University.
Ufa became the sixth city in the list of cities participating in the project. Russian Startup Tour- 2014 will be held in 27 cities from January 20 to April 27, with events and workshops to be attended by more than eight thousand people.
Organizers hope to find promising innovative solutions demanded in high-tech markets and help young designers to generate effective strategies for the implementation of projects to create a start-up team.
For each city a unique program is developed taking into account the requests of technological specialization of enterprises and innovation infrastructure in the region. The program focuses on the presentations of regional innovation projects, the expert group included representatives of regional venture capital funds and high-tech Russian companies.
The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov welcomed members of the roadshow in Ufa.
“The interesting stage of interaction between business and science, development of new programs is ongoing”, Khamitov said. “In the past it was hard to go through stages from idea to implementation. A manufacturer was obliged to implement promising development while modern enterprises do not have such obligation. The Russian Startup Tour- 2014 would be a step towards the integration of science, innovation and real production. Currently, the Russian industrial production is retarding, largely due to the fact that innovative designs are not introduced, obsolete technologies are used. It is great that Ufa is in the list of cities which will host the Russian Startup Tour- 2014. Students not only from Aviation University, also from Medical and Pedagogical Universities will take part in the sessions. Activity must be carried out not only in growth points; the Government will support this kind of area, will direct funds to support innovation,” the head of the region said.
“Last year we visited 60 cities”, the adviser to the President of "Skolkovo" Foundation for startups Pekka Viljakainen said. “We met a lot of people who believed that it was impossible to start a business in Russia. The Russians are skeptical about this. And I'm here today to show what can be done.”
