Ufa resident Vaitsekhovsky opened a climbing wall in UAE

The Honored Master of Sports and the current holder of the world record in sport climbing Ufa resident Eugene Vaitsekhovsky has just returned from the United Arab Emirates.

Eugene was invited in the city of Al Ain to open a new climbing wall, to hold a master class and several press conferences.

Climbing is booming in the UAE today. Sheikhs do not spare money for the construction of training centres and invite prominent sportsmen for exhibition performances.

Sheikhs and Asian Consul of the International Federation of Sport Climbing Anthony Shin, journalists and TV reporters of the local channel and a film crew from the neighboring state of Oman came to look at the skills of one of the fastest climbers of the planet.

“It's nice to help the development of my kind of sport both at home and in other countries”, Eugene shared his impressions. “Five years ago, I was invited to the UAE for the opening of the first climbing wall in Dubai. It was from there the sport climbing began its development in this country. Now it is developing in other cities, particularly in the fourth most populous city in the country Al Ain.
