Public control centre over utilities issues is created in Ufa

A Centre for Public Control over Housing and Public Utilities to be created in Ufa. This decision was reached by the participants of the round table on the topic "Housing and Public Utilities Reform in Ufa" organized by the Public Chamber RB.

The round-table conference brought together the heads of relevant departments of the municipality, managing companies, the houses committees, community active members.

One of the community members came forward with an initiative to computerize a range of functions of the utilities payments centre (ERKTS). The head of Ufa ERKTS Ildar Ardashirov supported the proposal, noting that just then special attention was paid to transition to electronic interaction with people. The ERKTS updated more informative website will start working next week already. There it will be possible to enter the metered values, adjust your receipts and make payments - already about five thousand customer accounts are serviced by this scheme. The question of sending payment receipts by e-mail is being under consideration, which can save up to 15 percent of the ERKTS costs.

The fierce dispute ended with introduction of a series of amendments to the Public Resolution submitted to the State Assembly - Kurultay RB, Government RB, the State Committee over Housing Supervision RB, Prosecutor's Office RB and the administration of Ufa. Among the key points of the document is monitoring of legislation on protecting the rights of citizens in the utilities system, analysis of citizens' appeals on information disclosure by managing companies, development of new forms of utility services charging and payment.
