Newlyweds became older in Bashkortostan

In Bashkortostan for 11 months of the last year 33054 marriages were registered that was by 1500 more than for the same period of the last year, the deputy chief of the General Register Office of Bashkortostan Alsu Fattakhova reports.

In addition, the republic observes downward trend in juvenile marriages and increase in the age of the persons wishing to marry. The average age of brides this year was 25-30 years, and grooms - 28-34 years. In the past years, the average age of women was 18-24 years and men - 25-34 years.

The last year is characterized by an increase in the amount of re-marriages, and the fact that more and more brides refuse to take their husbands’ surnames.
