Olympic Flame of Sochi 2014 arrived in Ufa
On December 20, at 10 o'clock, a solemn meeting of the Olympic Flame was held at the Ufa railway station. It was met by Andrey Ivanyuta, the Minister of Youth and Sports RB and Ufa Mayor Irek Yalalov.
The first torchbearer was the bronze medalist of Olympic Games 2004 Ruslan Nasibullin. He gave the Torch to the following torchbearers who will carry it through the historic part of the city - Karl Marx, Pushkin, Tukaev, Zaki Validi, Sovetskaya, Sochinskaya Streets.
The Honored Master of Sports Ruslan Nasibullin passed the torch to 15-year-old Danil Aitkulov, the sports fan.
The known in the republic and Russia football referee, a graduate of the department of physical culture Pedagogical University, now sporting director of FC "Ufa" Ildus Biglov became the third torchbearer.
Soon the torch of the Olympic Games was picked up by the champion of Olympic Games 1980 in Moscow Igor Sokolov, the shooter, who further transferred it to the talented young drafts player Ainur Shaybakov.
The seventh stage participant and the first woman at Ufa Relay became the founder and director of the Volunteer Centre of Bashkir State Medical University Nataliya Salmina.
Olympian skater Andrey Krivosheev, veteran of athletics Anatoly Kryukov and the follower of healthy lifestyle Rustem Gazizullin brought the torch to the first intermediate point - Salavat Yulaev Square. Here festive events started.
