Best scientific projects of young scientists will be chosen in Ufa

The final session of the contest of innovative projects within the program of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology "UMNIK" will be held at the Academy of Sciences RB on December 9-10.

According to the press service of the Foundation for the Support and Development of Science RB several tens of authors of the best innovative projects pre-selected at universities of the republic will take place in the finals. They will present their projects in five areas: "Information Technologies", " Modern Materials and Technologies for their Creation", "Biotechnology", "New Devices and Apparatus" and "Medicine of the Future". The main criteria for participation in the program are scientific novelty, relevance, technical importance of the product (technology), as well as feasibility of the commercial project.

Results of the contest will be announced on December 10. Winners will receive funding for their projects from the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology for the completion of research and development.

The Foundation annually allocates 500 million rubles for financing the program. The winners of the competition will receive a grant of 400 thousand rubles for two years. Thus, during the spring session of the contest 15 participants from Bashkortostan received grants.
