47 thousand residents of Bashkiria receive disability retirement pension

The Pension fund implements a number of measures to ensure the rights of disabled people to pensions and social support. Currently, the disability retirement pension is paid to 47 thousand citizens, social disability pension – to 51 thousand, the monthly monetary payment – to 305 thousand, compensatory payment – to 28 thousand people in Bashkortostan.

Besides pensions, people with disabilities receive a monthly monetary payment, the size of which depends on the degree of disability. All recipients of the monthly monetary payment are entitled to state social assistance in the form of social services, which include free provision of drugs and medical products, provision of vouchers for sanatorium-resort therapy, travel by suburban transport and long-distance transport to the place of treatment. The federal legislation provides for a beneficiary the right to choose whether to receive social services in kind or in cash.

Since 2005, the Great Patriotic War invalids and disabled people due to war injuries are entitled to an extra monthly maintenance in the sum of one thousand rubles, which is paid with the pension.

A monthly compensatory payment in the amount of 1380 rubles is set for carers for disabled people of group I.

Since the beginning of this year compensation payments to unemployed parents and guardians caring for children with disabilities under the age of 18 and disabled from childhood of group I are increased from 1380 to 6325 rubles.

Today in Russia, as in many countries around the world the International Day of People with Disability is celebrated. This day was established in 1992 by the UN General Assembly. Observance of the International Day of People with Disability aims to attract attention to disability issues and to support the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
