European tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau Day celebration is mastered in Ufa

On November 21, Beaujolais nouveau - wine of the new vintage made from Gamay grapes in the French province of Beaujolais (Burgundy) appeared in the restaurant menus and stores of Ufa.

Several Ufa restaurateurs supported the long-standing European tradition. "Beaujolais Nouveau Day" is celebrated in Ufa today – on the day of the official start of sales of new "Beaujolais".

"Beaujolais Nouveau – is light, immature wine with special flavours of red currants, cinnamon and banana. It can be kept not for a long time - about six months” Pavel Lupko, the sommelier of "Leader Group" says. “We order Beaujolais Nouveau from one of the world's top producers of this wine - Georges Duboeuf. Today, we have the first day of sales, our guests will have a fest at the wine bar "Wine & Cheese". There will be thematic quizzes with questions about the history of wine, live music and, of course, "Beaujolais".

Some restaurants mark the "Beaujolais Nouveau Day" with style and simplicity – with a free glass of new "Beaujolais".

“We ordered 60 bottles of "Beaujolais Nouveau", La Ruche restaurant manager Gulnara Ismagilova said. “This evening each guest will have a compliment glass of wine and a snack.”

Today a bottle of the famous wine can be bought and in Ufa stores too.

“At the moment we have only 20 bottles of Beaujolais nouveau” the director of "Master of Wine" store chain Maya Pashkovskaya said.
