New copy of antique Bashkir arrow will now decorate the church dome in the German town of Schwartz

Exactly two centuries ago Bashkir soldiers returned home through the town in Thuringia Schwartz (federal land in Germany) after the conquest of Paris. Here they met a German prince Gunther. He doubted the fighting capacity of the bow and asked Bashkir soldier to test the weapons. The warrior immediately demonstrated the art of archery, shot an arrow into the wing on the roof the neighboring house.

The original of the wooden arrow decayed long time ago, but Germans in memory of Bashkir brave men made its metal copy. This arrow for many years decorated the dome of the "Church of St. Laurens" in Schwartz.

During the celebration of the Battle of Nations - the 200th anniversary of Europe’s liberation from the Napoleonic invaders, which was celebrated in Germany, in Leipzig last week, a delegation of representatives of the Bashkir Diaspora replaced the old arrow to the new gold plated one. The delegation included Irek Baishev, historian Ramil Rakhimov, members of military history club "First Cavalry Regiment "Lyubizar" RB" headed by Ildar Shayakhmetov, director and journalist, author of the film "The Sound of Kurai over the Seine" Nasur Yurushbaev and others.
