A blogger from Bashkiria can become a member of the international expedition to Mount Elbrus

Top blogger of "LiveJournal" Rais Gabitov participates in the reports competition about the ascent of Mount Elbrus in the Red Fox Elbrus Race.

The price of victory is an expedition to Mount Elbrus in 2014 as part of an international team.

To become a member of the expedition, applicants have to win online contest of reports on their ascent of the peak in May this year. As of October 31, Rais Gabitov’s report is on the first place by number of votes.

“This is the most difficult physical test that I have ever experienced” Rais Gabitov says. “It is impossible to compare this to many kilometers of cross-country races in the army with full ammunition or multi-day hikes in the mountains. Each step in the atmosphere with low oxygen content was very hard to me; I had to rest every ten meters. Due to lack of experience and not completed acclimation I failed to conquer Mount Elbrus among the first, I was the last among those who ascended the peak. Nevertheless, next year I want to try again.”

Voting takes place on the official website of organizers and will last till November 1.
