Weather-sensitive people of Bashkiria may feel effects of powerful solar flares
An ejection of solar plasma that accompanied the flare that occurred on the Sun on October 26 came close to the Earth. A sharp onset of a magnetic storm was observed at high latitudes. Kp-index of geomagnetic activity, which characterizes the disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field jumped significantly, Gismeteo warns.
Practically the Sun’s entire surface is dotted with spots, among them there are sources of flares of the highest X - class.
According to the "Cosmos magazine" falres caused interruptions in the transmission of the radio signal on the Earth.
A strong solar flare occurred and the last night. According to the Institute of Applied Geophysics, its duration was 19 minutes. It was accompanied by a coronal mass ejection and bursts of radio emission of II and IV types. On October 30-31, geoscientists predict moderate and high flare activity. X - class flares may occur. At some times of the day disruptions HF radio signals are expected.
As the Academic Secretary of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences of the Academy of Sciences RB Denis Kondratyev explains, such activity like in October and in May 2013, the Sun displayed 11 years ago. Last night the outbreak was particularly strong. However, scientists do not expect anything extraordinary in connection with increased geomagnetic activity.
“Weather-sensitive people may feel unwell,” Denis Kondratyev says. “In those days people should be more attentive to their health. But flares are not strong enough to affect the operation of the equipment.”
According to the Academic Secretary of the Academy of Sciences RB, in the period from October 9, 5 to 22 from mild to moderate flares occurred on the Sun. Four flares were strong that occurred on October 25, 28 and 30.
