Rustem Khamitov and Alexander Klimov have discussed a possibility of Bashkir National Research University creation

Issues of Bashkir National Research University creation and preparation of universities for the SCO and BRICS Summits in Ufa became key topics of the meeting of the President RB Rustem Khamitov with the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Klimov.

Today Bashkir State University, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University have prepared programs for participation in the competitive selection for receiving a status of «National Research University».

According to Alexander Klimov, the project results on creation of federal universities will be brought next year. But, as the Deputy Minister specified, the program would not finish at that stage.

“The five years' period is provided when these universities will start realizing their programs and will carry out the obligations which they undertook. I should advise not to be in a hurry, and wait one more year. Then the Government will decide how to proceed further,” Alexander Klimov said.

One more question mentioned during the meeting was preparation of republican universities for the forthcoming meetings of the Council of heads of SCO and BRICS member states.

“Certainly, we would like to improve appearance of our universities, especially Bashkir State University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University. They are located in the area where the Summits to be held. Besides, we are going to spend a number of events before the Summits when the Russian Federation will preside in SCO and BRICS. Here there will be business councils, meetings of rectors from other countries,” Rustem Khamitov said.

One more pressing question is construction of hostels.

Making comments on this situation, Alexander Klimov marked that a final decision on distribution of means (four billion roubles for hostels construction all over Russia) was not accepted yet.

“I think that carrying out of the International Summits in Ufa in 2015 is an important factor which, certainly, will be considered at defining where and in what volume construction of hostels is required,” the Deputy Minister said.

Today Alexander Klimov will visit a number of universities. In particular, he plans to visit Bashkir State University, Ufa State University of Economics and Service and Ufa State Petroleum Technological University where he will take part in the seminar-meeting “Reform of educational right in the Russian Federation at present stage: strategy and consistency”.
