Plenum of the Union of Writers of Russia is held in Ufa

Famous modern poets, prose writers, literary critics of the country gathered at the Plenum of the Union of Writers of Russia which is held in Ufa.

As wordsmiths think, today moral values went by the wayside, including in literature. The classics gives way to light reading: to dime novels and simple detectives.

According to writers, it is necessary to highlight more brightly existing problems in modern work pieces, to pay attention to the Russian language integrity, to improve work of critics and translators.

The Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Liliya Gumerova noted that a variety of literary awards was founded in the republic. Only in the field of the commission on book publishing it is annually allocated more than 100 million rbl. for supporting the national literature. The best pieces of the Russian literature are translated into the Bashkir language and vice versa. This is the only way to inculcate in our rising generation a taste for poetry, Liliya Gumerova underlined.
