International Seminar on European Social Charter is held in Ufa

The international seminar on the European Social Charter will be held in Ufa on September 3-4.

The seminar task is granting of exhaustive information to enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation for the purpose of wider application of the European Social Charter (revised) on May, 3, 1996. The presentation of articles 3, 5, 6, 9, 10 on the state of affairs in the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan is planned, the press-service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB informs.

The seminar is continuation of several events organised in subjects of the Russian Federation as part of joint programs of the Council of Europe and the European Commission after ratification by the Russian Federation of the European Social Charter in 2009.

The European Social Charter is the basic legal document adopted in 1961 and revised in 1996. If the European Convention on Human Rights provides basically protection of the political rights, the Charter guarantees human rights and freedoms: in the field of labour, habitation, social support, movement, education and public health services and establishes a supervisory mechanism guaranteeing their respect by the States parties.
