Bashkiria was included in Top-5 of Russian regions on social well-being, leaving behind Moscow and St.-Petersburg

Bashkortostan was included into the first Top five of the Russian regions with very high rating of social well-being. The republic received over 65 points, more than Moscow and St.-Petersburg. The research data were published by the Fund of Civil Society Development. Polls were spent in February and May, 2013, 56 900 respondents participated in them from 79 regions of the Russian Federation. The statistical error does not exceed one percent.

Answers of respondents to four questions were chosen as the main criteria at defining results:

Are you satisfied or not with the situation in the republic? What do you think, does the situation in the republic improve, worsen or practically remain the same as a whole? Do you notice or not discontent of people surrounding you with the authorities, republican management and if yes, whether this discontent strengthens or weakens recently? Do you personally suppose to take part in any protest actions or not?

At drawing up the ratings of regions the rating scale from 1 to 100 points was applied. The regions with over 65 points were included in the first group of «very high rating», from 65 to 55 points — in the second group of «high rating», from 55 to 45 points — in the third group of «average rating», less than 45 points — in the fourth group of «the rating below average». Thus, regions received not only points estimate, but also a group index.
