40 forest fires occurred in Bashkiria in the first half of the year

For the first half of 2013, 5377 fires are registered in the territory of the forest fund of Russia on the total area of more than 546,5 thousand hectares. About 371,7 thousand hectares of areas were covered with wood, it is informed on the website of the Federal Agency of Forestry.

“In Bashkortostan from the beginning of the fire-hazardous season-2013 40 forest fires on the total area of 109 hectares were registered as of July 1. From them 10 percent of forest fires occurred through people’s fault,” the head of the press-service of the Ministry of Forestry RB Aibulat Gainullin informed Bashinform News Agency.

In the first half of the year 2013 the average area of forest fire made 2,7 hectares in the republic. Efficiency of forest fires suppression constituted 76,5 percent. In other words, 30 fires for this time were liquidated within the first days.

In total as of August 2, 2013 from the beginning of the fire- hazardous season 60 forest fires were registered in the republic. The total area which was destroyed by fires exceeded 136 hectares.
