Requirements toughening to job advertisement will support citizens - Federation of Trade Unions RB

An employer should pay a penalty up to 15 thousand rbl for a job advertisement specifying sex and age of an applicant. The corresponding law was signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. New amendments to the legislation forbid to distribute advertisements of vacancies containing data on direct or indirect restriction of rights or advantages depending on sex, race, skin colour, nationality, language, origin, property, family, social and official position, age, residence, and also other circumstances which are not connected with business skills of employees. The exception is made in cases where rights or duties to establish such restrictions or advantages are provided by the federal laws.
The persons distributing the information on vacant jobs or positions, containing discriminative restrictions will be hold administratively liable.
For our republic the discrimination problem at employment is quite topical, the deputy head of legal protection department of the Office of Federation of Trade Unions RB Elena Nedopekina thinks.
“We consider acceptance of the given law as a justified measure,” Elena Nedopekina says. “We-hope that acceptance of the given law will promote support of citizens which are in a socially vulnerable situation and consequently are subject to discrimination.”
