World Sports Journalists Day is celebrated today

The World Sports Journalists Day is marked on July 2.

This day in 1924 the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) which unites today almost one and a half hundred of national unions was formed in Paris.

Sports are one of the brightest part of our life and a symbol of constant movement and aspiration to new peaks.

Now sports journalists of Bashkortostan cover a set of competitions in various kinds of sports. The most popular are ice-hockey, football, volleyball, draughts. Recently the World Draughts Championship finished in Ufa, which was won by Russian Alexander Georgiev. In five days "Ufa" football club starts in a new season of Football National League, and in the autumn a relay will be continued by ice-hockey “Salavat Yulaev” and volleyball “Ural”.

The nearest global competition is Universiade-2013 in Kazan. Sports journalists are fully ready for it.
