Leading ophthalmologists of the world represent in Ufa last achievements in the field of ocular diseases treatment

In Ufa the International Research and Practice Conference on ophthalmosurgery "East-West" continues its work. This forum is spent in the republican capital annually since 2006, and gathers experts from all Russia — from Kaliningrad to the Far East, and also the best ophthalmologists of the world.

This year 700 people, among them prominent doctors from the near abroad countries, and also Germany, Switzerland and India arrived at the forum. For the first time experts from Japan headed by Professor Shuichi Yamamoto, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, the vice-director of Chiba University Hospital, one of the leading clinics of his country took part in the ophthalmologic conference in Ufa.

As the Ufa Scientific Research Institute of Ocular Diseases informs, unique technologies will be shown by each of the delegations which arrived at the conference.

The day before Ufa doctors spent several unique operations on the new equipment, including a cataract extraction. Video translation of operations was organised also.

The program of the conference closing today is rather saturated: six section sessions; five satellite symposiums where about one hundred scientific reports on the most advanced methods of diagnostics and treatment of ocular diseases will be made; exhibition of medical equipment, preparations and scientific literature.
