Draughts World Championship is opened in Ufa

In Ufa the solemn ceremony of opening of the World Championship in international draughts took place. The tournament which gathered 40 strongest players from 24 countries of the world is held in the European Hall of «Zelenaya Roscha» health resort from June 2 till June 19.

Our country will be presented in competitions by six Russian draughts players, from them there are three Bashkir players. This is a current world champion Alexander Georgiev, Murodullo Amrillaev and Ainur Shaibakov. Also the Russian Federation will be defended by repeated world champions Alexander Schwarzman, Alexei Chizhov and Alexander Getmansky.

Players should play 18 games. 12 players will be qualified for the final —three players from each group.

It will be possible to monitor duels of draughts players on the website of inter-regional public organisation «International Draughts Federation».
