"Rural" Zoo was opened in Ufa

The unusual Zoo with rural animals was opened on the first floor of "Bashkortostan" shopping mall.

There are more than 30 animals in the Zoo. Among them there are goatlings, lambs, chickens, fancy hens, tortoise beetles and pigs, and also rabbits, guinea pigs, a pheasant, a guinea fowl and even an ostrich. All of them are brought from Yekaterinburg, examined by veterinaries and vaccinated. The Ufa platform with a mini-farm is already the seventh in Russia. On May 15, the same farm will be opened at VDNKh in Moscow.

“We live in a megacity where often children do not know how a hen looks,” the head of the Zoo Vadim Belyaev says. “In the rural Zoo children get into real conditions of keeping animals where they can not only see them, but also pet and feed them.”

The Zoo will work without breaks and days off from 10 a.m. till 9 p.m.
