«Bashkiria is among the happiest regions of Russia» - Public Opinion Fund

Bashkortostan was included into ten happiest regions of Russia. The republic takes the sixth position in the list of regions where the happiest people live. The greatest number of all happy people live in Republic of Tyva. Data of sociological research was published by the Public Opinion Fund.

On the question «If to speak in general, are you a happy or an unhappy person?» 80 percent of the interrogated inhabitants of the region named themselves as «rather happy people».

The population group which includes the largest amount of happy people is students (88 percent); they are followed by people with the income of more than 25 thousand rbl. and top executives.

Nonworking pensioners, people over 60 years and those who are in search for job recognised themselves unhappy.

The Public Opinion Fund (FOM) is an independent sociological service.

During its existence FOM gained popularity not only in Russia, but also abroad, performing works for USIA, ROPER STARCH, BBC, Stanford University, "Eurasia" Fund, the World Bank, and also for embassies of different countries.
