Sappers of Central Military District liquidated a 12-kilometre ice jam on the river White

The divisions of a separate engineering brigade spent explosive works on the river White in Birsk region of Bashkortostan. As the press-service of the Central Military District informs, as a result of blasting of more than 300 kg of trotyl a crack with a total area of more than two square kilometres formed that allowed liquidating an ice jam of about 12 km length — between Beryozovka and Kamyshinka settlements.

“During a high water and an ice drift 28 blasting groups under the guidance of engineering officers and 15 evacuation-rescue crews are prepared. They have at their disposal 15 amphibian carriers and 52 units of special automobile equipment, including ambulances. In total it will be involved more than 400 military men,” the district press-service informs.
