Best world samples of font and typographics are presented in Ufa

The international exhibition of font design, typographics and titles design «Type Directors Club» was opened in the «Science and Arts» showroom at Academy of Science of Bashkortostan.

In the exposition there are the best samples of books and periodicals, posters, advertising and packing designed for the last year. According to the curator of the exhibition Olga Karyakina, works of American and European designers are traditionally considered the best. The appreciation is received also by German experts. Unfortunately, in the exposition there are few products by Russian designers.

«Type Directors Club» is an international organisation created in 1946. Its structure includes designers from 34 countries. The community main task is to assist vocational education in the field of theory and history of font and font design. In Russia the exhibition was shown for the first time in 2008. The present exposition will be seen by inhabitants of Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok.

The exhibition will work till April 5, and from April 6 till April 30, «Days of Design in Ufa» — «Matur Design» will be held in the «Science and Arts» showroom during which it is planned to hold competitions among students and to open a design exhibition related to the beginning of the XX-th century.
