Bashkir Shihany are the first among PFO sights at the «Russia 10» competition

Bashkir Shihany take preliminary the first place in Volga Federal District (PFO) among local nature sanctuaries, cultural monuments, archeological objects, objects of scientific and technical progress participating in the multimedia project-competition «Russia 10». At the moment Shihany gained more than 14700 votes.

The Kungurskaya Cave in Perm Territory is on the preliminary second place in Volga Federal District with about 12 thousand votes. The Stalin's bunker in Samara is on the third having received about 10500 votes. In the top five there are also the Saratov highway bridge - nearly 9500 votes and the Buzuluk pine forest in Orenburg Region - eight thousand votes.

It should be reminded that the Russian geographical society and VGTRK (All-Russian State TV and Radio Company) at support of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” newspaper have started the multimedia project «Russia 10».

One of the main functions of the project is advancement of Russia’s image as unique country with the richest cultural and natural heritage. The project task is to choose 10 new visual symbols of Russia by means of public voting. All won objects will be presented in a miniature at the landscape park "Russia" which is planned to arrange in the Moscow suburbs.

More than 700 objects of the Russian natural monuments, monuments of culture, archeology, scientific and technical progress were selected in the Russian regions during the preliminary voting.

Voting on the website «Russia 10» will last till September 29. Besides, visitors can place there the pictures of sights and objects which they liked.
