ТОР-3 Essential problems of Russia: housing and public utilities, inflation and low standard of living — VTSIOM
The main problem of the country is the situation in housing and public utilities sphere and rise in prices for these services. That is the opinion of 60 percent of Russians interrogated by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTSIOM).
The ТОР-3 of the all-Russian problems includes also inflation (52 percent) and low standard of living (51). Among other significant problems for Russia there is corruption and bureaucratism (46), situation in the sphere of public health services (42). Further the alcoholism (36 percent), unemployment (33), provision of pensions (32) and narcotism (31) are listed in the statistical rating.
The second half of rating is constituted by the state of young people (29), morals and ethics (27), situation in the education sphere, criminality (per 26), influence of oligarchs on life of the country (25), ecology (20).
Less acute problems are connected with army (16), demography (14), terrorism (11), democracy and human rights (11). The rating is closed by backdated salaries (9).
VTSIOM marks that the opinions vary depending on age of respondents. The housing and public utilities subject is especially pressing for elderly Russians (73 percent). They rank the situation in the sphere of public health services (53) and provision of pensions (54) as the main problems of the state. Respondents at the age from 18 till 24 years more often name among others alcoholism (41), drug addiction (43), unemployment (39), state of young people (45).
During statistical research 1600 inhabitants of 138 settlements in 46 regions of Russia were interrogated. The statistical error does not exceed 3,4 percent.
