The icon of Holy Nino from Georgia is presented to Ufa church

On the eve of the Holy Nino Day the republican Georgian national-cultural center by Shota Rustaveli presented the icon of Holy Nino, delivered from Georgia, to the Ufa Cathedral Godmother Christmas Church.

“It is important for Georgian Diaspora to have a particle of their shrine nearby and we are deeply thankful that the icon of Holy Nino was accepted by the church of Ufa” – the chairman of the national-cultural center David Gureshidze says – “Everything was organized in accordance with the canons of our Christian church. Thanksgiving service for Holy Nino was held. People were really impressed by this event”.

The Day of Holy Nino, who had once brought Christianity to Georgia, is celebrated in Georgia on January 27. In Georgia Holy Nino is revered as enlightener and protectress of the Heaven.
