The work for eco-monitoring and environmental control is activated in Bashkortostan

The work for development of specially protected natural territories, protection and reproduction of fauna, as well as for the rise of efficiency of ecological monitoring and environmental protection is activated in Bashkortostan.

As the deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Ernst Isaev has stated on January 16 at the first meeting of the organizing committee, responsible for holding the Year of environmental protection, ecological well-being is considered one of important directions in development of Russian state because “everybody unites his life and life of his relatives with the state of environment”.

“Unfortunately, the state of Republican environment remains uneasy and pollution of atmospheric air by transport and industrial enterprises arouses serious troubles. Bashkortostan has several objects and the ecological damage from their activity was accumulated still in the Soviet times – JSC “UFAHIMPROM” and Semenovskaya gold-mining factory. The problem of waste recycling also remains very hot. Problems with quality of water and water supply also demand quick solution” – the Vice-Premier stated.

The transition to modern level of ecological monitoring first of all in Bashkir cities is considered one of the top priority aims in sphere of ecology, standing before the Republic today. Besides, it is important from the point of view of WTO joining to change the approach of local enterprises to environmental protection. The work in sphere of waste recycling also should be activated.

“We have to raise the problems of environmental protection through numerous actions of public organizations and with the help of mass-media. Our republic possesses very rich and variable natural potential and the problem of its use and protection is considered the strategic line in our activity” – Ernst Isaev concluded.
