Burial place of two marines – natives of Bashkortostan are discovered in Korean People’s Democratic Republic

At least two natives of Bashkortostan are buried in the south of Korean People’s Democratic Republic on the cemetery in the town of Chongjin, the curator of the project “Calling by Name” (Vladivostok, Maritime territory) Galina Shaikova reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.
She was talking about Lieutenant Zakuan Abdullin, the commander of the Soviet Pacific fleet marine platoon, who had been recruited from Chekmagushevski region RB in 1038 and died, moving the platoon from encirclement in the course of Seisin landing operation on August 15, 1945, and about Faizulat Rafikov – a native of the same region RB and a mortar man of the same platoon, whose remains were buried in the common grave of Seisin landing operation’s heroes. He had been deadly wounded in the course of a storm.
Both our compatriots are written up for war decorations posthumously.
At present time relatives of the heroes are actively searched in Chekmagushevski region. Local administration reports the archive materials concerning birth place and recruitment of the Lieutenant Zakuan Abdullin are confirmed and his relatives are discovered in the village Starokalmashevo. They reported about the concrete burial place.
In the nearest future this information will be included into the Memory Book of the 335th guard marine battalion.
