Salavat Yulaev started the Spengler Cup with devastating defeat

Ufa «Salavat Yulaev» started with defeat the international, oldest in Europe, hockey tournament in Davos — the Spengler Cup.

Ufa players lost to local Fribourg with the large score 1:5. Salavat Yulaev delivered the first puck at this tournament; Igor Mirnov made it on the power play.

However after that plucks flew only into Irro Tarkki’s gate. One of them was by Andrey Bykov, the son of the former head coach of Salavat Yulaev.

In other match of the day the Canada national team conceded to German Mannheim in the overtime — 1:2.

On Thursday, December 27, the Ufa club will play with Vítkovice from Czechia.
