Rustem Khamitov has met with parents of disabled children in Utchaly

As it was already reported, on December 8 the President RB Rustem Khamitov is staying with a work trip in Utchalinski region and local rehabilitation center for disabled children and teenagers was one more stop in his work route.

The center was established 11 years ago. Social-medical, psychological, pedagogical and social services are its main predestination.

36 employees work in the center for today, including four pedagogues, one general practitioner and one psychiatrist. A hospital with 4 15-bed wards was opened here in 2011. The course of rehabilitation makes up 21 days. More than 300 children have passed rehabilitation in the center in 2012.

Rustem Khamitov has talked to the parents of disabled kids.

“At last our society starts paying attention to problems of gravely sick kids. We start developing infrastructure, social objects and education institutions. The center in Utchaly is one of the best in Bashkiria but we have just few of them. We have to build such centers, there are no other ways to solve the problems of disabled kids” – the head of the Republic said.

The President RB thinks that it is necessary to determine what system has to work with disabled kids first: kindergartens, schools etc.

“I am an adherent of inclusive education and I am sure that such kids mustn’t be separated from the society” – the President RB stated – “We have to pay attention to distant education too. Thus, an online University will start working in Bashkiria the next year”.

Rustem Khamitov also suggested that special program for rehabilitation of disabled kids and teenagers should be work up in the Republic and additional social benefits and payments for the specialists, working in such centers, have to be introduced.
