Migrants passed the first examination in the Russian language in Bashkortostan

Testing in the Russian language became obligatory for all applicants for jobs in Russia since December 1, 2012. The new law relates to first of all the workers occupied in housing and utilities, trade and consumer services spheres. They are obliged to confirm competence in the Russian language not lower than the primary level. Migrants should pass tests both at reception, and at prolongation of work permits in Russia.

In the republic the first examination for working foreigners was held at the Bashkir State University. Seven people came for the testing, the University press centre informs. All of them are from Vietnam, for a long time — from 5 till 22 years — they have been living in Ufa. At many of them children finished Russian schools and study in universities of Ufa.

However, in spite of the fact that they had quite good colloquial Russian skills, the examination appeared difficult enough for them. Two tests — writing and listening comprehension skills became a stumbling-block. Those who passed the examination will get work permits in January, the test can be passed several times. A night school is organised at the University on the basis of the training centre «Russian as foreign language». Classes are spent from 19.00 till 20.30.
