On October 8 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting with the ombudsman for children rights under the President of Russia Paul Astakov, who arrived in Ufa with a work visit. Problems of motherhood and childhood protection, actual problems of families, having many children, and families, rearing disabled children, were under discussion, the public affairs service of the President RB reported.

Problems of preparations for holding the VII congress of regional ombudsmen for children rights in Ufa in 2013 were also raised in the course of the meeting.

“We pay serious attention to protection of children rights and, sure, we figure on your support and recommendations concerning our future activity in this direction. It is clear that we are short of means but we are steadily moving further, erecting housing for children-orphans, new centers for children, new polyclinics and perinatal centers. Even facing the budget shortage we understand that this sphere is inviolable and problems of children have to be solved in the first turn” – the President RB mentioned.

“I remember quite well that I came here two years ago just a short period of time after your appointment and you immediately grasped the way, which the problems of motherhood and childhood protection should be solved in” – Paul Astakhov answered. All proposals, offered by us here that time, received exact understanding. Today we were inspecting a new specialized Child House and the rehabilitation center. In this connection I’d like to say many thanks to you for solution of these problems” – the ombudsman for children rights stated.
