Bashkir bloggers uncovered the “secrets” of the list of rock bands, once prohibited in the USSR

Bashkir Republican Live Journal society www.102жж.рф for the first time successfully finished a crowd-source project, in the course of which a retrospective mini-video-encyclopedia of foreign rock bands, once prohibited by Russian censorship for these or other transgressions before the ideology, dominating in the former USSR that time, was composed. As result of two-week investigations a gigantic multimedia message, consisting of video collections of the bands, which once failed to pass Soviet Komsomol censorship, appeared in Live Journal.

The Live Journal community intends to revive the list of Soviet rock bands, once falling into disgrace of ideological authority and to start investigations in the history of local cultural underground, the project’s coordinator blogger Shamil says. “Our city has rich traditions of informal spiritual life, which one may be proud of or ashamed of even three decades later”. In opinion of Live Journal envoy in Bashkortostan Dmitry “nehludoff” Eigensson such encyclopedian posts can be regarded as a powerful catalyst for raising the quality of Bashkir blog-sphere, in spite of their heaviness. In the course of the recently held “No Forum”, held on the base of RIA “NOVOSTI”, it was admitted several times that Bashkir blog-sphere was considered one of the most powerful among regional blog-spheres by content, intellectual level, literary gift and technical readiness of its participants.
