Bashkir Wikipedia already numbers 20 thousand articles. The jubilee article about Bashkir revolt in 1681-1684 was placed on October 31, 2012.

As the news agency “Bashinform” already reported, Bashkir Wikipedia was launched in internet 7 years ago. The first article was published under the title “Bashkortostan”. At present time more than 4,5 thousand users all over the world handle this resource. 6 persons have the status of administrator. Zufar Salikhov and Azat Khalilov are the permanent editors.

Bashkir volunteers use the special software (bots) for execution of labor-intensive works on making and editing of encyclopedian articles, having similar format and subject-matter. About 4500 articles in Bashkir language about settlements RB were made with the help of bots, 2500 – about municipalities of Germany and 1300 – about small and big rivers of Russia.

The total number of articles in all lingual sectors of Wikipedia exceeds 23 million. More than 37 million volunteers all over the world take part in creation of the multilingual database. Any user may add new information to Wikipedia articles. Volunteers of Bashkir Wikipedia offer the whole Bashkir-speaking population to take part in making the unique global encyclopedia, pretending to be included into the list of UNESCO World Heritage.
