Peatbogs are burning in Bashkiria

In Uchalinsky region of our republic peatbogs are burning in the territory of the Urgunsky Forestry. The ignition total area is one hectare.

The subsurface fire was detected in Uchalinsky region on the lands of forest fund of the republic on October 17. At the moment the fire is localised. Seven people and several units of special equipment are engaged now in its liquidation. A trench is dug by the dredger from the nearby lake to the place of peatbogs smoldering. They are poured with water. It is four kilometres to the nearest settlement – Uchaly village. There is no threat to the settlement, the press-secretary of the Ministry of Forestry RB Aibulat Gajnullin informs.
