Oksana Savchenko is a fivefold Paralympic champion with new world record
Student of the Bashkir State Pedagogical University by M. Aknmullah Oksana Savchenko broke a new world record – 2.28,00 at Paralympic Games-2012 in London at 200-meter medley swimming heat. She has become a twice champion of the Games.
In the final heat Oksana left Natalie Pronina from Azerbaijan by 0,45 sec and one more Russian swimmer Daria Stukalova by 0,73 sec behind.
Male swimmers also have two medals. Thus, Alexander Nevolin-Svetov (also from the Bashkir State Pedagogical University) won silver medal of Paralympic Games-2012. He was the second after Maxim Veraksa from Ukraine (2.12,42 against 2.14,45). Russian Sergey Punko was the third (2.14,83).
Therefore Bashkortostan already has three medals in swimming in London: two golden ones from Savchenko and one silver medal from Nevolin Svetov plus one track and field golden medal at 400-meter race from Alexei Labzin the day before.
Oksana Savchenko has already become a fivefold Paralympic champion.
