Names of winners of the contest “Literate City” to be announced in Ufa

The flower ceremony for winners of the town contest “Literate City” for the best organization of works on realization of the law RB “Native languages in Republic of Bashkortostan” will take place in Ufa administration on August 30 at 15 o’clock, Ufa administration’s press-service reports.

“The contest is held since 2006” – specialist of Ufa administration department for humanitarian issues Zulfia Khannanova reported to the news agency “Bashinform” – “That time we rewarded those active citizens of Ufa, who reported to administration about mistakes they noticed at town signboards. Since 2007 we worked up special criteria of estimation: how properly the signboards were translated into native languages, were visual materials, seals and stamps decorated properly and did this or that organization subscribe to national editions. The directions we estimated included trade, industry, education, culture and art”.

225 Republican institutions have been estimated according to the abovementioned criteria within the frames of the contest this year.

Well-known philologists, linguists and employees of the Institute of history, language and literature RB, the Bashkir State Pedagogical University by M. Akmullah, the Bashkir State University, heads and deputies of Ufa municipal administrations will take part in the solemn ceremony.
