More than 500 people in Bashkiria still live with Soviet passports

Olga Murtazina
For seven months of 2012 the Federal Migration Service in Bashkortostan has given out 130 thousand 612 passports of citizens of Russian Federation, including 8 thousand, received for the first time. The migration service reports that there are people in Bashkiria, still living with Soviet passports. Thus, 551 people, having such passports, issued still in 1974, are registered in our Republic. “The most popular reasons why people refuse from changing their passports are religious and ideological but we have to continue convincing them of the necessity to change their documents” – the Federal Migration Service in Republic of Bashkortostan reports.
