Colleagues from the USA will come to train Ufa health professionals

Fr om August 27 till August 31, the Bashkir State Medical University (BGMU) for the first time will conduct a large training course together with University of Washington (Seattle, the USA). Lecturers fr om BGMU and nurses from the University clinic and from treatment-and-prophylactic establishments of the republic will be trained there. The course will be held on the subject «Evidence-based nursing on oncology: rendering help to patients and members of their families». The program represents the most modern knowledge of cancer and connected with it physical, psychological, immunologic and sociological reactions of patients and people close to them.
Within the lim its of the event the arrival of three experts from the USA is expected, which are the best in the world experts in the given field. Thus, for example, the Professor of Nursing, Psychology and Sociology Frances Marcus Lewis – the author of a considerable quantity of articles in world famous reviewed international medical magazines will arrive in Ufa. She repeatedly headed projects and grants of the National Institutes of Health of the USA (NIH, USA). Frances Marcus Lewis already visited Ufa and made an excellent report at the traditional University neurologic readings in 2009 which took place in the City Recreation Centre and gathered 900 listeners.
Within the lim its of the event it is planned to form two groups. 100 people will participate in the first part of the course. They will put the received knowledge to use in their daily work. The second part of the course will include 20 experts who in the future will be able to conduct trainings in the given direction for other people.
It is remarkable that the course will be free of charge for its participants (in other countries similar trainings are extremely expensive), BGMU press-service informs.
