For the first half of the year 169 people died in fires in Bashkiria

Fr om the beginning of the year in Bashkortostan there were 2180 fires wh ere 169 people died, the Deputy Chief of Chief Directorate of the Ministry For Emergency Measures of Russia on RB Marat Latypov reported at the press conference concerning fire safety in the republic. This month the quantity of fires decreased almost for 15 percent. The situation is stabilising due to variety of measures held by the Directorate. Thus, 304 preventive groups were created, which checked up more than 137 thousand private houses, more than 35 thousand from them belonging to problem families, more than 19 thousand to lonely aged people.

In connection with fire-hazardous situation from April 1 till May 15 current year a special fire-prevention policy was established in the republic therefore the quantity of fires managed to be lowered almost by 30 percent.

According to statistics most of all fire outbreaks in apartments occurs due to negligence of tenants themselves. As a rule, it is desire to smoke in bed drunkenly is blamed for it. In this connection, the division carries out active social work. For the first half of the year 208 television plots devoted to fire prevention, 809 performances on radio were made, information materials are given in electronic and printing editions, Marat Latypov explained.
