Representative of Bashkiria is taking part in international festival “For Life-2012”

International festival of social technologies in protection of family values “For Life-2012” is held in Moscow these days. The forum gathered delegates from more than 100 Russian regions, Ukraine, Byelorussia, the USA, France, Australia, Canada, Greece and Serbia. Real situation in sphere of demography, exchange of experience and revealing of the best social practices in sphere of consolidation of family institutes and protection of children life before birth became the main topics, offered for discussion.

The center of motherhood protection “The Arc” from the town of Tuimazy presents Republic of Bashkortostan at the forum and its representative Natalie Ermoshina is found in the staff of the forum’s organizing committee.

Initiators of the forum say that unsatisfactory statistics led them to the idea to hold this forum and thereby to attract public attention to far from optimistic demographic situation in the country. More than a half of marriages break, the number of newly born babies isn’t enough even for simple reproduction of population, the country holds the first place in the world by the number of abortions, falling on one woman (more than two million per year) and the number of aborted babies exceeds the number of newly born ones. Alcoholism, drug addiction and oncologic diseases, caused by smoking, accelerate the process of depopulation.

The chairman of the charity fund by the Saint Basil the Great Constantine Malofeev stated that it was necessary that protection of motherhood should become the top priority in social and demographic policy, conducted by the state.

Totals of the contest of social projects in sphere of demography will be summed up within the frames of the forum. 14 best social practices in sphere of consolidation of family values, protection of children life before birth and counteraction to alcoholism and drug addiction will be announced.

The festival is held with assistance of the Russian Orthodox Christian Church, charity fund by the Saint Basil the Great and the Center of National Fame of Russia.
